In ancient times, early man combined animal fat with soil to form oil paints in Southern Europe.

The oldest oil paintings are Buddhist murals in Bamiyan, Afghanistan created in 650 AD. Jan Van Eyck was a Flemish painter who lived in the 15th century. He mixed linseed oil and nut oil with various colors. Alkyd resins mixed with vegetable oils provided great success to Jackson Pollock and Picasso. In the 1980s, chemists worked out to change linseed to hydrophilic.

If you are one of them, the Circle Community’s Wet On Wet Oil Painting Workshop with Manju Chabra is all you need. The session is purely crafted for creative minds to get an idea of the art form and be able to present them responsibly.
