String Art Workshop: String Art or Thread art like it is commonly known, is an arrangement of coloured thread strung between points to form geometric or irregular shapes. To explore this horizon of art, Rajasthan Studio curated a String Art Workshop and invited Niharika Sharma. She is a college student and she started doing string art from the past 11 months. Exploring various other art forms, she decided to showcase her artwork through her instagram page. She also customises string art for others.
The String Art Workshop Began
Niharika elaborated about the materials required to all the 15 attendees. She began by explaining how to draw the desired shape perfectly on the wooden plank. Niharika also explained and demonstrated the hammering of nails on to the plywood. Some of the attendees worked alongside her whereas some took notes diligently. Then, she explained how the woolen thread has to be turned around the nails. The curious attendees asked several questions about the kind of plank and thread that can be used for this artform. Niharika patiently answered the questions while wrapping the thread around the nails.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
At the end of the workshop, Niharika displayed some of her string art work to the participants. Few participants had successfully created their own string art and showed them on their cameras.
Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
