Dot Mandala Mug Painting Workshop: Dot Mandala a popular art form which originated from aboriginal Australia. In this art form, we create circular designs with the help of dots made up of paints. To do away with the mid-week blues, Rajasthan Studio curated a Dot Mandala Mug Painting Workshop and invited Shreya Gupta. A self taught professional artist from Bangalore, she has a great passion for art. She practices different forms of art like – mandala, sketching, painting, resin art, zentangle, clay art, etc.
The Dot Mandala Mug Painting Workshop Began
Shreya explained the tools required for the dot mandala and also suggested the alternatives to these tools that can be easily found at one’s home. She also shared a small tip to prepare the paint colours in advance so that it sticks to the ceramic surface of the mug. All 45 attendees followed the instructions provided by Shreya and were keeping up with her art pace.
Most of the participants had a common query of how to sustain the paint on the mug for a longer duration and make it waterproof, to which Shreya suggested to let the paint dry for 24 hours and apply a layer of art varnish and let it dry for another 24 hours. A young, enthusiastic participant of eight years made using earbuds, match stick and incense stick. She was keen on showing Shreya her dot mandala work which was highly meritorious!
Towards The End Of The Workshop
The attendees were excited to showcase their bright colourful coffee mugs to Shreya and were willing to practice dot mandala art on various other ceramic objects like flower pots, saucer and turn regular plates into decorative plates.
All the attendees were fast learners and came up with wonderful creations of their own within very less time. Rajasthan Studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a colourful and positive vibe together.
On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
