India has a very rich cultural heritage ranging from poetic epics to marvelous art forms. The ancient artists of India always believed in representing their surroundings in the form of paintings, making ancient art extremely valuable and informative. The cultural and artistic practices of today are mostly inspired by our age-old and remarkable history. One such art form that satisfies one’s thirst for something magnificent is the Cheriyal Nakashi artwork that originated from the roots of Telangana in the 19th century and is believed to be one the most practised art form of recent times. It takes one on a visual journey of incidents mentioned in puranas and epics.
About The Artist
D. Vinay Kumar is an ardent art enthusiast who began his artistic journey at the age of 11. He completed his Bachelor’s in Fine Arts in Hyderabad. He always thrived for excellence in the journey and garnered a lot of experience that he found very precious and informative. This is why he always shared those experiences with people in the form of workshops in coordination with NGOs. He believes that Indian art is a way of redeveloping oneself and reinventing one’s thought process. He has won numerous awards and accolades like Kamala Devi Puraskar in the field of arts by the Government of India.
And the Workshop Began
The workshop began with a brief introduction of D. Vinay Kumar and his experiences in the field of art. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the attendees. Furthermore, he spoke about the rich history of Nakashi paintings. He started making the painting and simultaneously cleared the doubts of the participants. The workshop was very intriguing and the attendees were engrossed in the process. He also pointed out some tips and tricks that were very important and helpful.
The attendees were painting together with Vinay and were having a great time learning the art form.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
As the workshop progressed towards its completion, the attendees were able to create their own art pieces that they showed to Vinay for feedback, who appreciated each one of them. The workshop was very advantageous for the attendees as they got to know a lot about the traditional art of Cherial Nakashi.
The participants were from different parts of India and belonged to various age groups but their passion for art brought them together on a single platform. TCC as always was successful in bringing artists together and celebrating their love and passion for art.
